Christian Education in a Tradition of Excellence since 1979

Perseverance and wholehearted effort best describe our Lion Warriors' character.  Several teams in the league had more experienced soccer players, who had played together for many years.  The boys gave every effort to gain the knowledge of the game, exhibit self-control as they implemented what they learned, and with mutual affection, bore with one another's weaknesses and encouraged one another's strengths.  They each learned to use the unique abilities God has given them to play soccer as a team.

Our character was tested time and time again, but we persevered, no more so than on our road to the championship game in the season tournament.  I am proud of the boys, not primarily because they exhibited these qualities in the game of soccer, sometimes at great odds, but because I have faith that they are putting them into practice in their relationship with the Lord.

"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self control; and to self control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.  For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."
2 Peter 1:5-10
If they continue to do as Peter discusses, they will not only have the success we experienced as a team, but will also have effective and productive lives as men of God.
