Scriptural Directives for Christian Education

Scriptural Directives

We began Christian Center School with a specific mission and calling. We believe wholeheartedly in the goals of biblically-based education and encourage you to consider our reasoning:

In His Word, God calls followers of Christ to bring up their children with intention and direction: "Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord,”Ephesians 6:4.  The "instruction of the Lord" is provided within and in accordance with the Word of God.  The Bible is the essential foundation for teaching Truth in all subjects.

A school based on this foundation provides a positive moral environment in which children work and play, and affords the opportunity to positively influence students' attitudes and behavior using biblical principles.  When instruction is God-centered, the love and fear of God  stir up in a child's heart, encouraging a child in  his/her calling to love, fear and obey God.  Out of thankful love to God and His Christ, a child is called to honor his parents, submit to his teachers, subject himself to the State, live purely, love his neighbors on the playground, and work at his studies to the best of his ability.

The reward is implied in the proverb, "Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he grows old, he will not depart from it." Proverb 22:6.  It is a joyful work for the teachers of Christian Center School to be instrumental in training children to live and work in this world to seek the Lord our God in everything.

We do not consider it the purpose of our school to reform the character of children in the absence of personal motivation or parental involvement. We believe that children who are eager to learn, and who are eager to grow as disciples of Christ are the best enrollees to Christian Center School. It is our purpose to provide an environment where the character of children from Christian homes can be preserved and promoted, and tomorrow’s leaders prepared.

The advantages of a Christian educational setting:

  • Parents can be directly involved in the spiritual instruction and training of their children in the educational setting. (Deuteronomy 6:4-7; Ephesians 6:4)

  • Curriculum and philosophy are Bible-based, biblically consistent, and God-centered.  (Isaiah 54:13, Colossians 2:6-8, James 4:4)

  • The peer group is godly, and problems can be dealt with and solved using biblical principles.  (I Corinthians 5:11, Galatians 6:1)

  • Staff, parents and other workers are godly and have the same core spiritual values and commitments. (Psalm 1:1)

  • We are family. (Philippians 2:4)

  • Excellence and character, God-centered environment and academics are our overall commitment. (Colossians 3:17)
