For over 36 years, I have been teaching Math. I received a BS in Mathematics from University of Nevada in 1979 specializing in Abstract Algebraic Modeling and received my teaching credentials later that same year. For ten years, I taught in the Lower Kuskokwim School District in Alaska. In this small community I taught many subjects grades 6-12 and facilitated all of the Math programs grades 1-12. In 1990, I became the Administrator for Indian Education programs for grades 1-12 in Kamiah, Idaho retiring in 2013. I have always enjoyed teaching Math, but have gained the greatest satisfaction from getting to know my students and who they are individually, culturally and spiritually.
In 2014 I joined the CCS staff as an Algebra 2 teacher and Math Lab tutor. In my semi-retirement, I love working with the students here and seeing their light bulb go on as they grasp new concepts. Many of my students have gone on to accomplish engineering, scientific and medical degrees.
