CCS has proudly sponsored Iyundu Arafat since he was in the 2nd grade. Arafat is now in the Primary 7 Class at Rehaboth Primary School. This is a big academic year for him, as he'll be taking national exams this fall to demonstrate mastery of primary school. If he scores high enough, he'll be promoted to high school next year. Arafat tells us that his favorite subject is social studies, and he's interested in becoming an engineer when he grows up. His family stays in the viallage of Bugembe, located in the Jinja district. He is a partial orphan, having lost his father, Bakari, in an accident in 2012. His mother Namusobya Ruth, works as a food vendor to provide for her children on her own. Thre are 5 people sharing their 2-room home, and Arafat helps his mother with fetching water and washing dishes by hand. In Arafat's spare time, he enjoys playing football (soccer), singing, dancing and drumming. Arafat asked if you would be praying for him to be thankful for the gift of life.
